Lou Rawls – It’s Just The Way That I Feel (UNRELEASED Sigma Sound Studios Demo 1984)

This is a true studio vault find. This previously unreleased Lou Rawls recording comes from an original Sigma Sound Studios (Philadelphia/New York) session cassette dated May 21, 1984. The tape contains several songs that later appeared on Rawls’ Close Company album, but this track never made the final LP, despite being fully produced and album-ready. And honestly…it’s a mystery why. “It’s Just The Way That I Feel” is an upbeat, catchy slice of mid-80s Philly soul, with a bright groove, tight rhythm section, and Lou’s signature smooth, powerful vocal. It easily stands alongside the official album cuts and could have been a single. Not sure why this one did not make the cut.
